You can now use our Mailchimp add-on to automatically add new subscribers to your Mailchimp subscribers list.
The setup process takes a few seconds and this guide walks you through the whole process.
Installation
This is a premium addon that you can buy here. Afterward, follow the following steps to install it.
- First, download the addon from your account.
- Log in to the WordPress admin area of your website.
- Navigate to Plugins > Add New then click on Upload Plugin.
- Upload the plugin you downloaded in the first step.
- Click on Install Now.
- Wait for WordPress to install the plugin then click on Activate Plugin.
After activating the addon, WordPress will redirect you to the addon’s welcome page. Use this page to connect your Mailchimp account and select a default list.
Configuring the Addon
The welcome page has a text input field that you can use to connect your Mailchimp account.
Copy and paste your API key into the field then click on Connect. If you don’t have a Mailchimp API key, you can get one here for free.
If the connection is successful, a select box will appear asking you to select a default list as shown.
Select your default list then click on the Save button to save your changes.
Note: New subscribers will be added to the list that you select as your default list. You can assign a different list to any form that you create using the Opt-in forms editor.
If you ever need to change your API key or default list:-
- First, open the Noptin Settings page.
- Click on the integrations tab to reveal the Mailchimp settings.
- Change your API key or default list then click on the Save Changes button to save your changes.
To refresh your Mailchimp lists, click on the Saves Changes button then reload the page.
You can also use this page to enable or disable double opt-in.
Double opt-in means that new subscribers will not be added to your Mailchimp list until they confirm their subscription. Depending on the nature of your website and sign up forms, this may not be desirable.
Opt-in Forms Editor
This addon adds a few options to the Opt-in Forms Editor.
These allow you to set a different list for the form and also add tags for subscribers who sign up using that form.
Tags make it easy to segment your subscribers. For example, Mailchimp allows you to limit an email campaign to subscribers who have a specific tag.
If your Mailchimp list contains some custom fields (merge tags), you can map them to your form fields directly in the fields editor.
That way, all your subscriber data will be sent to your Mailchimp account.
If you have ever used another WordPress Mailchimp integration then you know that it doesn’t get any easier than this.
Go ahead and take a look at the addon now.
