Noptin’s email editor lets you change the font family used throughout your email.
To do this, open your email in Noptin’s email editor, then:
- Open the Typography panel in the right sidebar.
- Find the Font Family field.
- Enter the font stack you want to use.
- Save or publish the email.
For example:
Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif
The first font available on the recipient’s device will be used. If Arial is unavailable, the email client will try Helvetica, then fall back to its default sans-serif font.
Your editor should look similar to this:

Recommended email-safe fonts
For the most consistent appearance across Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo Mail, and other email clients, use fonts that are commonly available on users’ devices. Email clients can substitute unsupported fonts, so using a fallback stack is important.
These are good options:
| Font | Recommended font stack |
|---|---|
| Arial | Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif |
| Helvetica | Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif |
| Verdana | Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif |
| Tahoma | Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif |
| Trebuchet MS | “Trebuchet MS”, Arial, sans-serif |
| Georgia | Georgia, “Times New Roman”, serif |
| Times New Roman | “Times New Roman”, Times, serif |
| Courier New | “Courier New”, Courier, monospace |
| Lucida Sans Unicode | “Lucida Sans Unicode”, “Lucida Grande”, sans-serif |
| Lucida Grande | “Lucida Grande”, “Lucida Sans Unicode”, sans-serif |
| Palatino | Palatino, “Palatino Linotype”, “Book Antiqua”, serif |
| Book Antiqua | “Book Antiqua”, Palatino, serif |
| Arial Black | “Arial Black”, Gadget, sans-serif |
| Comic Sans MS | “Comic Sans MS”, cursive, sans-serif |
| Impact | Impact, Charcoal, sans-serif |
| Garamond | Garamond, Georgia, serif |
| Calibri | Calibri, Arial, sans-serif |
| Cambria | Cambria, Georgia, serif |
| Century Gothic | “Century Gothic”, Arial, sans-serif |
| Segoe UI | “Segoe UI”, Arial, sans-serif |
The safest core choices remain Arial, Courier New, Georgia, Lucida Sans Unicode, Tahoma, Times New Roman, Trebuchet MS, and Verdana.
Using a Google Font
You can also use a custom web font such as Montserrat.
First, add the font import to the Custom CSS field in the visual editor:
@import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Montserrat:[email protected]&display=swap');

Then enter this in the Font Family field:
"Montserrat", Arial, sans-serif
Important:
Google Fonts and other web fonts are not supported by every email client. Always include an email-safe fallback font so your email still looks good when the custom font cannot be loaded.
TIP:
Copy the @import code from your chosen font’s page on Google Fonts. The URL and font weights will vary depending on the font and styles you select.
