Noptin 4.1.8 improves how you track your email performance, fixes some excerpt edge cases, and modernizes key parts of the plugin’s internal architecture.
If you rely on Noptin to power your newsletters and automated emails, this update makes things more accurate, more reliable, and easier to scale.
Automatically Add UTM Parameters to Your Newsletter Links
You can now automatically add UTM parameters to links in your newsletters.
This lets you track which newsletters drive the most traffic and conversions to your site without collecting personal data.
When enabled, Noptin will auto-tag links with standard UTM parameters so you can clearly see:
- Which campaign sent the traffic.
- Which medium it came from.
- How each newsletter performs over time.
You can enable or disable this feature at:
Noptin → Settings → Emails → Tracking → Auto-tag links (UTM)
It’s enabled by default, but you stay in full control.
Tracking Settings Are Now Better Organized
All campaign tracking options are now grouped under a dedicated Tracking section inside Email Settings.
You can enable or disable:
- Campaign opens and clicks
- E-commerce revenue tracking
- UTM auto-tagging
This keeps your email-related configuration in one place.
Manual Excerpts Now Respect Word Limits
If you have set up a latest posts notification campaign, you may have run into this:
You set a word limit… but the excerpt ignores it.
That’s now fixed.
Manual excerpts are properly trimmed to the maximum word count you define.
Unwanted HTML and gallery markup are stripped more reliably, too.
Your automated emails will now look cleaner and more predictable.
More Accurate Click Tracking
Previously, when UTM parameters were appended to links, click logs could treat slightly different URLs as separate entries.
Now, Noptin logs clicks against the clean destination URL (without UTM parameters).
This ensures:
- Cleaner analytics
- No duplicate tracking
- More reliable click counts
Background Data Exports
Large exports can now run in the background.
Instead of risking timeouts on large subscriber lists or campaign data, Noptin queues the export and processes it safely in the background.
This improves performance and makes Noptin more scalable on shared hosting environments.
Under the Hood: Major Internal Improvements
This release also includes several important architectural upgrades:
- Refactored Email Generator into a proper
namespacedclass - Replaced legacy installer with a standardized database installer
- Improved search behavior for names and emails
These changes don’t alter your workflow — but they make Noptin more stable, maintainable, and future-proof.
Updated Positioning
You may notice the plugin name has been simplified to just:
Noptin
And the description now reflects what the plugin has become:
A fast and lightweight marketing automation plugin for WordPress.
Noptin has grown beyond simple opt-in forms. It’s now a complete newsletter and automation system built for WordPress users who want performance and control without SaaS lock-in.
